The Vice-Chancellor of Sam Maris University (SMU), Supare-Akoko, Ondo State, Prof. Francis Gbore has disclosed that the 2023/2024 Academic Session of the Institution would commence on Jan 8, 2024.

Prof Gbore made the disclosure in a Christmas and New Year Message to members of staff and the entire University Community of SMU.

As we pleasantly celebrate this Year’s Christmas and the upcoming New Year in the next couple of days, I am pleased to announce that the academic activities of SMU will commence on January 8, 2024. Therefore, I enjoin everyone to take cognizance of the date.” The Don further noted that “admission process is in progress and candidates with the requisite qualifications can still take advantage of the opening to change their first choice of institution on the JAMB Portal to Sam Maris University and thereafter visit the University website, www.smu.edu.ng for admission processes.

On the Christmas celebration, the Vice-Chancellor said “I am delighted to extend warmest greetings to all staff, our prospective students and the entire members of Sam Maris University community.”

May this season bring joy, peace, and cherished moments to every member of SMU family.

I also wish to seize this opportunity to thank the Founder of this first private University in Akoko Land of Ondo State, Mr. Samuel Tomi Ologunorisa, SAN for his overwhelming support, creation of conducive work environment and commitment to staff and student welfare since I assumed office. Furthermore, I wish to applaud the dedication of our esteemed Principal Officers and acknowledge the sacrifices made by all pioneer staff for the smooth take-off of the University.

As we look forward to a new year filled with hope, I cannot wait to welcoming all our prospective fresh students as well as all staff to the University in the coming year, with a renewed drive towards achieving the vision of our University.
