Our Vision

The vision of Sam Maris University is to be a world-renowned university that is internationally distinguished for excellent research, and high academic standards in legal, managerial, social and applied sciences and commitment to social justice.

The objective of establishing the Sam Maris University, in addition to increasing access to University education so as to accommodate the large population of well-qualified candidates that cannot have places in existing Nigerian Universities, is the motivation by the need to create an environment conducive to high quality teaching, learning, research and good character. The University is borne out of the desire to increase access to quality university education.

SMU Philosophy

The philosophy of Sam Maris University is to provide training that is practical in approach and guarantees that graduates shall be employment providers and not employment seekers. This shall be inculcated in students through training in entrepreneurship to enable students apply the knowledge they have acquired for the growth and development of Nigeria and the world at large.

SMU's Strategy

The strategy for Sam Maris University is to ensure that courses in entrepreneurship studies are taken by all students and that graduates acquire a practical and productive skill upon graduation; imbue in graduates the appreciation of the importance of hard work and dedication to productivity as well as assisting indigent students through engaging them in remunerative jobs in the proposed University.

Our Approach

The University is driven by the need to nurture the spirit of entrepreneurship in students, and the need to provide the new generation of leaders with the knowledge and skills required to run the emerging knowledge driven economy. The strategies are to provide a world class learning environment and facilities; and to engage in cutting-edge research, attract and retain the best scholars from anywhere the world over.

At Sam Maris University, we are motivated to create an ICT-driven academic environment c;onducive and committed to high-quality teaching, experiential learning, cutting-edge and high-impact research, and good character. We are driven by the need to produce globally competitive graduates nurtured with the spirit of entrepreneurship. We are also driven by the need to provide the new generation of leaders with the requisite knowledge and skills required to run the emerging 21st-century knowledge-driven economy.
