Dr. Ayotola Olubunmi Onanuga, the pioneer Ag. University Librarian of Sam Maris University, Supare-Akoko, Ondo State, Nigeria, is the immediate past College Librarian of Osun State University, College of Education, Ipetu-Ijesa Campus (2019-2023).

She had worked and performed excellently in various sections of the library among which include Technical and Serials. She has taught 100 level and direct entry students of Osun State University GNS 103 (Use of Library) for over 12 years and Library Management to first year LIS students of the same University. Over the years, her teaching had had positive effect on library patronage and helped the students of the University to make effective and efficient use of library resources and services.

She started her career at the Premier University of Ibadan where she taught 300Level Part-time students of Library and Information Science Department in 2010. After which she proceeded to Osun State University Library as Librarian II where she distinguished herself in the cataloguing section of the library. This she did till 2015 and was found worthy to serve as the College Librarian of College of Agriculture, Ejigbo of the same University. After transforming the library in terms of processes and services rendered, she was transferred back to the main campus as the head of the Serials section of the library till 2019. She was then transferred to head the College Library at College of Education, Ipetu-Ijesa campus of the same university.

She is an alumnus of University of Ibadan (B. Ed; MLIS) and University of Ilorin (Ph. D). She has over 14 publications to her credit published in reputable local and international outlets including two book chapters.

She had attended both local and international conferences as well as workshops and seminars on various subject matters in the field of librarianship. She is a member of Librarians’ Registration Council of Nigeria (LRCN), Nigerian Library Association (NLA), Cataloguing and Classification Section of NLA since 2011.

Her wealth of experience and expertise will be utilized in providing the right direction for library as well as helping Sam Maris University achieve its mission and vision.
