Mr. David Daramola, the Registrar of Sam Maris University, is an astute professional University Administrator joined the services of the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) in 1994. Mr. Daramola has showed great capacity for sustained administrative prowess and rose through the ranks substantively to the post of Director, Directorate of Establishment and Human Resource in the University Registry in October 2022.
Educationally, he attended the University of Benin from where he obtained the Bachelor of Public Administration degree in 2006. He also obtained a Master of Business Administration degree from FUTA aside Diplomas.
As a professional administrator, he created a niche for himself as an officer who is committed to excellence in service delivery and this has stood him in good stead in his postings to critical areas of university administrative work as Acting Director, Vice Chancellor’s Office, Senate Matters and Admissions Officer, Council Affairs Officer (2009-2014 and 2017-2021) and Acting Director, Directorate of Establishment and Human Resource in 2021.
He has won several awards in recognition of his outstanding performance. He was awarded the Best Administrative Staff of the Year by the Federal University of Technology, Akure in 2008. He was also awarded the Vice Chancellor’s Special Award for Excellence and Productivity in 2017, Vice Chancellor’s Special Recognition Award in 2021 and received several Commendations for his contributions to the Registry of FUTA and outstanding performance in the University at various times. He had also contributed to the development of the Nigeria University System by serving sister universities on special assignments.
Mr. Daramola is a member of professional bodies such as the Association of Nigerian University Professional Administrators (ANUPA) and the Association of University Administrators of the United Kingdom. He is also a Fellow of the Institute of Corporate Administrators of Nigeria. He has served as Chairman, Member or Secretary to various Committees and Boards and attended several conferences at home and abroad in the United Kingdom and United States of America.
Prior to joining the Federal University of Technology, Akure in 1994, Mr. Daramola had worked with the Ondo State Water Corporation as the Head, Pension and Records Registry and the Pioneer Head of the Board and Management Services Unit, the Judicial Service Committee of Oyo State from where he was transferred to the Osun State Judicial Service Committee and the Osun State Civil Service Commission where he served as Chief Instructor at the Osun State Public Service Training School, Osogbo.
Mr. Daramola is a man with impeccable character. He is amiable in disposition and is committed to excellence. He enjoys good health. He is morally upright and emotionally stable. He is an excellent team player and endowed with good interpersonal skills which situates him well in providing good leadership for his subordinates. He is happily married to Adebola and the Union is blessed with God-fearing children.
